Bonding over Bernie’s mittens

Snuggling into giggles

And ease

Nutrient dense balm

T’was.

Holding breath for a year,

Or four,

Some of us -

Tensions spread like meme.

Collective exhale

Rigidity break

Relaxing, a little.

Stressful this dumpster fire has been.

Ages since smiling faces

Beam freely -

And Bernie made the week

Bearable, to say the least.

A topic of conversation not at all divisive -

“Are you enjoying Bernie and his mittens?”

So many reasons to love,

And none (so far) to hate.

That’s just it -

There is no hate in mittens -

Especially ones made warmly by a teacher.

Bernie and his mittens,

Uniting the internet -

Trending everywhere it is possible to trend.

Art travels at the speed of meme,

Like a school of fish

Following an inexplicable sense of timing,

Twisting and turning

Our frowns upside down.

3 cheers to Bernie and his mittens.
