Body Love (mouth triptych)

Lips

Kiss

well that’s obvious

but also

smile

and frown.

Teeth

Chew

of course, you knew

but also

bite

and grind.

Tongue

Lick

an expected ticket

but also

click/ cluck

and sing.

Learning to love oneself, is a full time job, it seems. This poem expresses my love for a part of my body that I like; my mouth.

Mouths perform so many functions, from eating, to kissing, and singing. Such a small part of our bodies, performing such important functions. Used to raise our voices, raise awareness, and even, raise eyebrows ;)

What is one of your favourite body parts? Why is it your favourite? What would you write to celebrate this piece of yourself?
