If you want to know how I really feel

Just look at my face

I mean - stop looking at me

But do you see?

“I’m a walking mood ring”

I sometimes joke at my own expense

Too many feelings, all aligned with a certain shade of red

It's not necessarily my expression that will give me away

And certainly not my deadpan glare

But the blush of straight fuchsia rushing to my cheeks that’ll do me in

I’m a self-identified Blusher

Ok?

I used to hate this about myself

The kids in school called me, “Blushes”

And oh…

I’ll never forget the time a teacher remarked how she had never seen ‘that color’ before

Well

Turns out ‘that color’

Is my color

I’ve never seen it out in the wild before

All of the different shades of emotion that dance across my face

Are my color

And while I’m still learning to Love it with a capital ‘L’

It has grown on me.

Can you tell?
