Blue Lobsters

And Other Atlantic Neighbors

If you really take a look

At current events or history books

It could be said that maritime life

Is quite sad.

But to me it seemed funny

Because she was smiling so sunny

With her husband dead

Along with my dad.

"They say it all comes in threes

And first to go was sweet Larry,

Then it was your pa then my

Dear old man."

She asks, "are you afraid or are you smart?"

And like sugar we exchanged our hearts

Because in the maritimes you live

As you can.
