Blue Hour Truths
Dusk makes honesty feel safe to say.

At blue hour the city softens
edges blur,
sirens feel farther away,
and even my mistakes look… survivable.
﹁﹂
I take the long way home
just to stay inside that color,
that in-between shade
where nobody expects answers.
﹁﹂
Windows turn into small aquariums.
I see a man stirring pasta,
a kid doing homework,
someone dancing alone in socks.
Little lives, unperformed.
﹁﹂
The sky goes indigo
and my phone screen feels too bright,
like it’s shouting.
So I don’t check it.
(That’s my big rebellion lately.)
﹁﹂
Dusk tells the truth sideways.
It says: you’re lonely,
But you’re also free.
It says: you miss them,
but you don’t miss who you became.
﹁﹂
I stop at the crosswalk
and watch headlights bloom
like slow flowers.
For a second, I’m jealous of light
for knowing where to go.
﹁﹂
Then the air cools
And the day finally lets go of me.
I breathe in,
and something honest settles
not hope exactly,
not grief either,
just a quiet fact
I can carry.
