A heart that is taken is a soul lost
Pondering on life and what it all means
A broken heart can hurt so bad,
But when the broken half is taken
Waterfalls run down cheeks
And the soul shuts down
Like a dead-end road
It doesn’t know where to go
for without the complete heart
the soul is lost
lost in an awakened slumber
like a rose bush that dies every fall
a broken heart will too
but not completely
the roots are still there
and over time the heart will regenerate
rose buds will bloom
and the soul will come down to earth
with a new path to follow
a path without a map
