Blood, Mud, And Good Men
The fical mistress that is anger.
Escaping the virus of the world, so complicated and ugly
There is but one way out of the sickness that we've become
Accepting the truth of our evils requires a special approach
And thoughts lost and more than just some
It grows like a beast from a cub to a lion inside
Hiding from the rest of the world around
Feeding on the deliciousness of the pain and suffering
Inside a place we hope never to be found
Resides, it does, inside all of those who walk this world
A resident living rent-free in the dark recesses of the mind
Held in the cage of a private and self-made hell on this plane
Something kept hidden, that good souls hope none will ever find
No true escape exists from the pull of the pit within
It is the real existence of that ominous place called hell
A place none can truly escape from for long
But it's kept caged as long as we are doing well
To let it loose, a scary thought, indeed
So it's the mission of all good souls to keep it held at bay
Recognizing the difference between you and them
Is but just one weak moment on one terrible day
Do not give in to that thirst needing quenched
Never take that taste of sweet and earned blood
Continue to do the right things even when the hardest
Don't sully yourself by being buried in the mud
Do not succumb to your inner instincts
The primordial need to conquer and kill
The evolution of men brought us away from such darkness
But it all still requires us to have the strongest of will
