Blood Fountain

A Bizarre Summer Nightmare

By Nova SkaiPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

The Fountain that Bleeds,

Deep within this

Darkly ethereal

Forest of nightmares,

Beckons me home to

The place guarded by

A Wolf of Ash.

This alabaster font that hemorrhages.

The White Marble carved

Womb of my inspiration,

The birthing grounds of

My Elysian Soul,

Is watched over

Through the

Eternal twilight hours by

A single pair of

Amber yellow eyes.

Dandelion daggers,

That see through

The Aeons.

Under this moonless night,

I am guided through the

Jade forest, and

Invited to this

Sky-clad ritual by

The Great Ashen Beast

With a coat of steel.

I bask my feet in the

Pooling blood

At the base of this

Fountain,

And join the

Wights of the forest

In a Star-lit waltz.

Twirling around this

Great geyser of

Ruby and Garnet

Ichor,

The darkness of

The Jade forest

Falls away into the

Expanding distance,

And I am left alone

In this drunken pirouette.

I am watched by a

Pair of quartz-cut eyes that

Resembled electrified honey,

As I gait feverishly

Around the Well.

His eyes that seem to

Gouge away at

The earth and

My barren flesh.

This bizarre ritual

Seems to have been

Initiated by

Gods of unknown realms,

And of hidden power.

I am but a mindless drone

In this eerily woven dreamscape.

Was it the Beast that

had drawn me here?

Or perhaps

I had been entrapped

By the Fae,

After wandering through the

Wrong door in my mind.

Or perhaps even,

This spell of

Blood magic

Was indeed brought upon me

By my own subconscious will.

A break in the

Murk and Darkness

Offers my own

Emerald eyes a

Renewed sight just ahead of me;

A cobblestone path

The color of bone,

Guides my

Blood-drunk consciousness

Away from this

Nightmarish place,

Underneath an

Iron moon and

Wights that

Dance relentlessly in the

Frozen heavens above.
