BLESSINGS OF MY LIFE

I look at the men before me

Seeing the boys from my past.

They’re grown with families of their own.

Time’s gone by way too fast.

^^

I miss their boyish antics

When they tried hard to be tough.

I wanted more time with my boys –

The years didn’t give me enough.

^^

And yet, I see who they’ve become:

Husbands, fathers, too.

While time has stolen them from me,

I find I can’t be blue.

^^

Loving daughters I never had,

Children to make me smile;

Love and hugs to go all around

That make my life worthwhile.

^^

So on the days I might feel blue

Because my sons have grown,

I look at the photos hanging on my walls

And see a new family of my own.

^^

I remember the good times from the past,

And yet, anticipate the rest

Of all the good times yet to come.

Yes, I’m truly blest.
