The world is
hard
cracked & crusted
dry
barren
needing & wanting
plagued.
Yet there are gleams.
Silver
in the gray
that brings relief
Gold
in making way
for an old man
who just needed more
room
rubies
in thankful gestures
that honor sacrifice
diamonds
in doors held open
love freely given
compassion
empathy
the blessings
we make
ARE
the cure
