such decadence

i never knew existed before

in a blanket

something i used to throw

across myself

in the middle of the night

without much thought

i've always been

a fleece girl

snuggled in the lush softness

on my skin

but then i discovered

muslin cotton

which is cotton with

a plain-weave construction that

makes it breathable

and gives it the appearance

somewhat of gauze

and also gives it mind-bending

abilities

on one hand it's

very featherlight

and yet

it lays weightedly on

my body

it provides just the perfect

amount of warmth

without inducing even a hint of sweat

here in Florida

leaving me marveling at

how it does

how it is

whoever came up with the idea of

weaving the cotton like this

is a genius

I wonder if they ever thought

that it would be adored so as

lightweight

yet hugging

breathable

yet an ideal warm

simplistic

yet decadent

a plain softness that doesn't plush

but says "here, i got you" in an

extravagantly humble embrace that

is decidedly swoon-worthy

a sensory delight

especially after a shower

bringing comfort to the next level

without bragging

muslin cotton

for the win.
