Blacken Me Out From The Light

Poem

By Paul CrockerPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

I see life through newborn eyes.

I can sense if something lives or dies.

It feels like such a burden.

I don't want this overwhelming sensation to worsen.

Blacken me out from the light.

Was given wings to fly.

But I just want to sit and cry.

For the things I have been and known.

Never could have prepared me for what I was shown.

Blacken me out from the light.

Remove the halo above my head.

Bestow it upon someone of worth instead.

I do not deserve such divine praise.

I want to learn my lesson in an honest way.

Blacken me out from the light.
