Black Feelings

Black joy is when we are free from slavery,

Black joy is when we are treated equally and not a color,

Black joy is when we can go out without being scared something will happen,

Black joy is when we are courageous and can walk away from ignorant people,

Black joy is when we are happy that we are free,

Black joy is when we can look in the mirror and say thank you, Lord, I am free,

Black joy is when we can finally be happy to breathe,

Black joy is when we can be crazy in love with freedom,

Black joy is when we can have full opportunities that were never offered to us as slaves,

Black joy is when we can rejoice to the Lord who gave us the strength to go through all this discrimination,

Black joy is when we can come together as one powerful Black Americans proud of our culture and never hid it,

Can I get an Amen?!!!

Amen for freedom,

Amen for our brothers and sisters who are not among us today,

Amen for the fight we thought we would never win,

Amen to the Lord who has given us the strength, power to do right as free Black Americans,

Amen to this,

Amen,

Amen,

Amen,

Now can I get an Amen?!!!!!
