Like Black-holes and matter

My atoms were torn apart and resewn together

However, the only thing that is remembered

Is me being dismembered

Even though I metamorphosized to renew my life

No longer bound to branches dodging snails

Now in the sky I race with kites

Yet only half the story was immortalized

The point 5 percent that was shared

Only highlighted my pain and despair

Now in their presence my presence

represents pain and despair

I’m also reported dead

So instead of confronting the paradox

behind what they see and what was said

They put the burden on me

Nicknamed me the bat from hell

who now dwells among the living dead

All these rumors of me are suffocating

When all I want is room to be room to breath

My state of being trapped in a cyclone

Of clashing depictions of me

My ontology twisted inside

The twisted definitions of other beings

Who’s at fault for assigning my species

This false identity

The scientist or the artist

Was my origin story betrayed

By the microscope or the paint brush

Out of ignorance our genes mislabeled in a petri dish

Or out of envy was the colors

of our wings bleached off a Canvas

I’m the Black body branded a cannibal

Cause I consume all frequencies

But despised and never acknowledged

As I reflect them back

For you to see

I move in ways that mirrors

How color moves in waves

They say the way I love

Is not direct enough

I know enough to know

I don’t know too much

But I know the shortest path

between two points

Is not a straight line but a curve

So often I’m felt but never observed

I emerge as the Golden Ratio confirmed

I make love to balance and violate symmetry

From the cocoon of emptiness

I hatched as everything

I fly with wings that don’t match

Abnormalities confused for a defect

For I reject that normal exist

I embody the diversity

That existence needs to persist

Ask me who am I

None other than the mis-classified
