Black And White.

The world through my eyes.

By D- NiALPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

In a world of black and white, I’ve always somehow managed to stand out.

For so long, I felt the need to be one, or the other.

Driven by the need to blend, to fit in.

Like being colourful or being bright was a problem; I needed to be seen. To be heard.

When I started to see more than what the world wanted me to, I felt love. I felt passion, happiness.

To be confined in such a grey area, can drive a person insane.

To limit yourself to such little life, is exhausting.

It’s tiring.

Living in a world that wasn’t created for you, or by you.

So monotone, so lonely.

People like me cannot be contained.

We cannot be put in the limits of time or colour, or emotion.

We are too bold, too strong to be categorized into a book of nothingness.

We cannot be painted into words of someone else’s story, someone else’s vision.

To see in colour, is to see everything.
