We Do Recover
Black as night samurai,
lion of white soul,
spiritually torn asunder.
Blindly chasing the wrong,
struggling to fight for right,
casting shadows in the night.
A recovering addict now,
a doctor in a former life,
physician can't heal thy self.
Black night of addiction,
technicolor emotions of the light,
temptation to run, to give up my life.
The recovery I now chase,
blending my colour to grey,
in my season changing quest,
to change my wayward ways.
Watching friends give up the fight,
watching friends lose the light,
there but for the grace of God, go I.
That's the only fact in this life,
that is truly black and white.
