BLACK and PROUD

An Ode To My Community

I’m BLACK and PROUD. I’m BLACK and PROUD. I’m BLACK yet I’m tired. Frustrated. Angry, depressed and anxious. Senseless violence on my brothers and sisters by police officers that were supposed to protect us.

Who do we call now?

Black lives matters. Yes, my black life does matter. But then there’s always a white woman saying, “all lives matters.” Until my life matters will there ever be change?

We kneeled. We tried peaceful. We protest and it’s still a problem. Just last week, white people was just protesting about gyms and spas not being open.

Excuse my boldness but the black community has had enough.
