Bionic Parts Don't End The Journey

Knee Recovery is a Bear To Do and a Bear of a Burden

Sadness engulfed me

The tears are a decree

of frustration and worry

making my eyes are all blurry

This road is hard, but I can’t go back,

working hard, trying not to crack

Will I get there, reach the goal

and become whole?

My efforts seemingly are not enough;

it has been truly, really rough

The knee won’t bend as far as the doc wants;

stress makes me want chocolate croissants

PT cranked it and stressed it today,

got a bit of movement and some play

Scar tissue is due to the surgery the doc did

So please, doc, don’t judge me on your grid

Consider my age and how you rotated my leg,

then tell me I have not met your bending peg

I’m not a millennial or a pro athlete,

but I’m not taking a back seat

I’ve been working hard on the bend

I want it more than you, to have it mend

I don’t want to think of being knocked out

and you cracking my knee, giving scar tissue the rout

if that is done, it brings more pain, for how big a gain?

Because I wonder, will it cause a new circular path of scar tissue buildup?

A/N - PT says they put you under with conscious sedation and then bend your knee to break up the scar tissue. It won't hurt while they do it, but it will after.
