Big. Chubby. Fat.
11 years old, I stare at the mirror and whisper the words to myself,
unaware of each syllable’s toxicity.
Big. Chubby. Fat.
13 years old, I cover my body and repeat the words in my head,
taking each letter as a lesson to learn from.
Big. Chubby. Fat.
15 years old, I plug my ears to drown out the chanting,
whimpering at each linguistic blow.
Big. Chubby. Fat.
17 years old, I open veins to flush out the ritual,
sacrificing myself to hatred.
Big. Chubby. Fat.
19 years old, I stop chanting but he does it for me,
smile fading with each learned response.
Big. Chubby. Fat.
21 years old, I stare in the mirror and yell the words at myself,
pride swelling as I am empowered.
Big. Chubby. Fat.
Beautiful.
About the Creator
Kye Earley
I'm a 23 year old creative. I write, act, make youtube videos (search CoffeeCat, you'll find me!). I also really really love cats. I do magic and tarot, so those themes sometimes slip into my work. Oh, and I'm secretly a mermaid.
