She was made of hard angles
A jaw set with determination
A glint of a challenge in her eyes
She was hard-headed, stubborn
But fearless and bold
She grew bored
With being sedentary
She wanted to fly
To run
To shoot the sky
Just to see if her arrow
Could pierce it
She would climb the Crown's Tooth
Drink from the fire falls
All to defy the ancient kings
Who alone had tapped its riches
She was brave
Undaunted in the face of adversity
The softness in her features
Was only a gentle smile
Of knowing
Nothing escaped
That constant ticking
Of her mind
It was a steel trap
She smiled
Viciously
And with mild amusement
When you became ensnared
In that trap
Ruled by her head
Never her heart
She defied the expectations
Set out for her
She ripped the pretty lace
From the feminine laws
Given her
Dirtied up female sensibilities
And cast them aside
Like a discarded apple core
Her argument
Always logic
Her weapon
Always truth
Any battle of wits
Saw her as its victor
But as much as it nettles you
To see this woman win
She never dwells for long
To her
It's just a puzzle
A game
A honey sweet challenge
To sate her thirsting mind
As quickly as one
Disposable riddle
Is solved
She's off on a quest for another
No remorse
For your hurt feelings
Or your wounded ego
Just a shadow of a smile
Of distant satisfaction
About the Creator
A. R. Ambrosi
I like to write, if that makes me a writer, then rock on!
I started writing as a child because I ran out of stuff to read. So, I only write stuff that I like. If you like it too, awesome! Enjoy! ^_^
