Beyond The Last Breath

The final breath is not the end,

It is a step through unseen light,

A crossing from the world we know,

Into a place beyond the night.

I used to fear the closing eyes,

The silence death was said to bring,

Then life revealed a deeper truth,

That endings often start a spring.

The heart may stop its steady beat,

The hands may lose their earthly role,

Yet something stronger carries on,

The endless journey of the soul.

I’ve felt the presence of the lost,

In moments no one could explain,

A gentle touch upon the heart,

Arriving softly through the pain.

The grave can hold a resting form,

Though it cannot contain the flame,

The part of us that learns and loves,

Continues still, unchanged in name.

No darkness claims what love has built,

No distance steals what time has grown,

The bonds created here remain,

Long after flesh and bone are gone.

And when my own road reaches there,

I will not walk that path alone,

The faces carried in my heart,

Will greet me where the light has shone.

So every tear that falls today,

Can hold a spark of hope inside,

For death is not a closing page,
