Beyond Broken
A poem for those who know or want to know what it is to be beyond broken…

Have you been broken before?
Have you crossed that threshold where you hurt no more?
Have you reached the point where your beyond that door,
There’s no more feelings left to explore?
Old self gone, new self non-existent,
A limbo of sorts, with nothing persistent.
Do you know what it’s like to exist without a shoulder to cry?
To feel like it would be a blessing to die?
Beyond broken.
Not rebuilt.
Numb, wrapped in an aura of nothingness.
Nowhere to run, no one to turn to.
A ghost, ash, and rubble…
I understand why some act out, why they break the rules.
To feel noticed.
To belong.
To rage rather than fade into nothing.
The soul would rather become a storm
Than dissolve into mist.
Beyond broken, yet not fully healed,
Trying to exist before you disappear.
I wonder—how many can relate to this?
