Beware of Pundits
Full of Easy Lies
Beware of pundits, full of easy lies,
who overturn science to satisfy their base.
Playing the fool to mislead the wise,
*
these talking heads in silk suits and ties
denounce scientists till they're red in the face.
Beware of pundits, full of easy lies--
*
shills paid to spread Big Oil’s alibis
while glaciers melt without a trace.
Playing the fool to mislead the wise,
*
they roll out resolutions to disguise
drought in the Amazon that’s now taking place.
Beware of pundits, full of easy lies,
*
who deny the effects of sea level rise,
the bleaching of coral we’ll never replace.
Beware of pundits full of easy lies,
*
and alternate truths--anything that falsifies
the existential crisis we now face.
Playing the fool to mislead the wise,
*
they don't care if anyone (including you) dies,
for they’ve never known the meaning of disgrace.
Beware of pundits, full of easy lies,
playing the fool to mislead the wise.
