The crashing waves of broken trust

The towering arc of a tidal wave

about to crash,

its barrel curling in on itself.

For a moment, in slow motion

gravity pulling, tidal-force propelling

its relentlessness unstoppable,

inevitable, yet still shattering every time.

It collapses on itself.

A terrifying crash, a formidable roar

that will smash and drown you every time,

unless you're prepared.

Yet, in spite of its inevitability

we are never ready.
