Beneath the Puerto Rican Sky
One of the most beautiful resting places in the world

At the edge of Old San Juan,
the Atlantic keeps its endless watch.
White crosses rest beneath an open sky,
each carrying a lifetime
still treasured by someone.
A red dome lifts its color
into the morning,
faith rising above sorrow,
hope resting beside memory.
Beyond the old walls,
the Atlantic stretches toward the horizon,
its rolling waves
marking the passage of time
beneath an endless sky.
The breeze moves among the graves.
Flags lift and fall,
honoring lives filled with courage,
kindness, and laughter.
Families come carrying flowers,
photographs,
and stories passed from one family
to the next,
keeping beloved hearts close.
Generations have come and gone,
yet this sacred ground
continues to welcome
every tear, every prayer,
every hand reaching back through memory.
The sun will set,
the waves will keep their rhythm,
and tomorrow someone else
will come looking for a loved one's name.
