Beloved Fruit

Brown and bitter and bygone

Grapes, brown, bloated, bitter on the vine,

Dress the table, white cloth so fine

To halt our spiced tones mid air-

If they were to burst, where

Would the rotting flesh

Disperse, leaking

Underneath?

Spiders’

Feast.
