Belladonna

A poem

By EllePublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

Her golden brunette locks lock a truth deep beneath her heart

Her arms flow as if a grace were constrained

Yet she looks so free and surreal like the curtains in the wind

A graceful, shell of a woman choked by golden chains

Her skirt flows sublimely behind her midst

Her hair bats back and forth with every movement

Yet the sometimes the leaves protrude and kidnap her arms

An enchanted figure, a statue of perfection, she dances there by the window pane...

The roots surround the lock buried deep

Restraining, suffocating and trying to reap

She drinks the killer with every breath taken

Rosy cheeks, temporary elegance shaking

And her flesh grimed with poisonous auto parasites

Her swaying arms stained with toxic sludge

The stems that once guided it

Eating it from within until she is

A ghost of her existence
