Being Needed is Tough

Probably the toughest thing about being alive.

Every breath you draw is not for yourself

But for the person who needs you next

Your work so you can pay the bills

Your children

Grandchildren

Mother

Spouse

Even the damn truck has started to act up

You breath and serve and try

to multiple

to meet the demand

But

There’s never enough

of you

And time flys by

You blink your eyes

And you’re lost

To the need of everyone else

And you lose yourself.

But

Who are you

Without their need

It’s good to be needed

Wanted

Used

Better to forget

Yourself

Then to be

Forgotten
