Being Light

Choices in Colors

Light

A soul that can withstand darkness

And still see the light

Be that light

Positivity

Hope

That pop of pink

I still crave that hot pink experience

Maybe one day

I still think maybe there is

A rainbow of possibilities

In the future

Dark grey clouds keep

Weighing me down

But I still come out

Like the sun each morning

Some days hiding more than others

How I long to lay low to the Earth

Protest rising

There is comfort in brown and in dullness

But the littles ones

They need me bright

They need me to shine them with my light

Wrap them in my warmth

Fading yellow sun

Don't lay yet

Make some magic with your hues of orange and red

Before they rest their head

And don't forget

You are also the moon

There is no one else for the job

So, stay bright in the night

Bold white

Don't let the dark sky

Eat you up

You need to be their light

Protect and soothe tiny worries

Beg the stars to grant your wishes

For them

If not for you

Give them colors of choices

You don't have

Only light to hold onto

Being light

Is my way
