Barefoot
I
walk
across
the
morning
grass
sprinkled
in
dew
the
daffodils
are
in
bloom
and
they
remind
me
of
you
yellow
flowers
always
do
these
cheerful
bursts
of
color
brighten
the
otherwise
dreary
fields
that
haven’t
yet
recovered
from
winter
the
birds
have
returned
how
grateful
I
am
to
hear
them
whistling
and
singing
and
to
see
them
flying
and
circling
the
sky
there’s
a
pregnant
doe
by
the
barn
sitting
and
eating
the
happy
little
heads
off
of
the
dandelions
the
creek
has
thawed
and
the
water
is
flowing
there’s
that
constant
trickling
sound
in
the
background
soon
we’ll
hear
the
frog
and
cricket
songs
every
night
when
the
lights
are
off
and
we’re
lying
in
bed
together
the
buds
on
the
trees
are
sprouting
new
leaves
and
in
a
few
weeks
these
will
be
full
thick
and
green
thank
God
for
spring
