"Before This Day Becomes Another Regret"

"Before This Day Becomes Another Regret"

By ElliePublished about a year ago • 1 min read

These days, nothing feels right.

There’s a heaviness in my heart—

a restlessness I can’t name.

So many “what ifs” echo in my mind.

I should have taken that chance.

I should’ve done something back then.

Maybe things would be different now…

Maybe I wouldn't feel this way.

But then again—

Why am I always crying over the past?

It’s gone.

No matter how much I rewind it in my head,

it won’t change.

Now, even if I don’t have much of a choice,

I must still give today my whole heart.

Even if that heart isn’t whole anymore.

Even if more than half of it feels lost.

Still, I’ll try.

I have to.

Because while I stand frozen,

others are moving ahead with the ideas

I once dreamed of.

Please—do something.

Whatever had to happen, has happened.

Don’t let today slip away too.

Focus, before this too becomes

just another piece of the past

and all you're left holding is

empty hands.
