let's not adult, today let's hit the snooze snuggle down a little longer let old movies flicker across the room let the treadmill wait another day grab Rocky Road and coffee for breakfast draw chalk hopscotch across the pavement outside set out lemonade and cookies for anyone passing by skip along to the song only you hear laugh louder without care send anonymous happy notes just because drift on the park swings watching the day roll by take off your shoes sand squishing between your toes smile drink water from the fountain spin slow on the merry-go-round put a quarter in the machine wait for the small surprise speak with interest and wonder make a new friend today race home before the streetlights come on even though only you see them plop down on the back porch tired but happy sit in the tub awhile allow memories of innocence to wash over you again because growing older doesn't mean wonder should leave first
About the Creator
Ms Jade
Ms Jade writes by listening inward — where stories wait beneath the surface.
Some things you’re told to follow. Some things you have to feel out for yourself. I write in between— learning as I go.
