Poem 24-10-2017 8:13 pm
You are the ocean;
An olive tree of peace.
You are the moon shining down on me.
Your ten tiny fingers,
Full of endless inquiries.
A kiss for every melody;
A pearl for every sleep.
Ooooh oh. Ooh oh.
You are the salted air,
The gentle caressing breeze.
The way the winds dance within the branches of the trees.
You are the mountain tops,
With views that bring me to my knees.
Travelling with broken radios,
Crooked smiles with loose teeth.
You are the journey and the destination.
One day you're learning numbers,
The next you're fighting for peace.
So stay young, my children.
Stay young and wild and free.
Through every bee sting and heartbreak,
Remember to dirty your feet.
'Cuz You are the ocean,
An olive tree of peace.
You are the moon shining down on me.
For Ocean, Oliver & Luna.
