In the only way I know,
I tried to help you grow.
Telling you you’re unproductive,
Criticism meant to be constructive.
But every time you made excuses,
Made me angry and more abusive.
I pushed you to be a better man,
And every day you became less than.
Get off your ass and get a job,
You’re just like everyone don’t be a snob.
Go to school and get your degree,
So maybe one day you can live carefree.
Your computer won’t tuck you in at night,
But you put it before the ones that were there despite.
As you made empty promises,
I learned to believe the opposites.
While you said you would change,
I sat here going quite deranged.
You can’t fool me anymore,
Because I need to close the door,
To the house that I am leaving,
Your words to me are unbelieving.
So when I say I love you so,
It’s really you; who let me go.
