Becoming A Villain

A short Poem

The devil personified as a friendly genie
who's wizarding ways, like media, can  rewrite any script
cunning, smiling, a disguised pariah looking only to gain

Opportunely new to the realm I've been for years
That which I've called Peony from the beginning is actually  Lisianthus
       Confused and question riddled

The wizards grandiloquence befriended and beguiled
       Yellow became gold
       Red became crimson
Until all colors were lost as if blanched

Frantically digging, the action so prolonged I thought china might appear
The search producing no regular pantomath
Placing myself between noesis and noema
Becoming blind to even scales of grey, just silver
       Under direction of this wizard

Student becoming the master, the transition so subtle it goes unseen
The quiddity of both forming an unstoppable amalgamation
Consuming and infiltrating all crevices of thoughtful space
Until there is nothing left to conquer

We imbued the space with falsity, breaking it, forcing me to wake
No one knowing of the devilish manifest destiny planned by their dastardly potentate
