beauty is promised
within each 24 hours of
Earth’s planetary spin
first, you awoke
mourning doves sang
if you’d decided, you could
watch the glowing ascent of a
morning rising sun
and while it may only last
a moment or two
such a time comes again
when the day is yielding its end
and there, you can view
a day’s daily close
illuminate grey clouds
in all shades of rose
ambers and apricots,
if you’re lucky, even crimson
but keep a watchful eye
for short minutes pass fast
before your
technicolour show
again, starts to dim
and such a cycle repeats
day after day
short spans of time
fleeting away
yours to capture
if only for a chance
to witness moving beauty
as the sky’s colours dance

Sky tricks fade so quickly, we better catch them while we're here. I love your poem and the photo. Did you take it yourself?
