The incense of his cigarette linger's through my window;A slight, but choking fragrance of lust.

My flesh and bone are weary, but my spirit is enduring, I’ve stayed long enough to see the harvest,

I've tasted the gulch, no hunger left, and I am bountiful and beautiful-skinny from starvation; I’ve made it to fall.

A laborer in the field, blood and bruises yield; bathing in the warmth of the creators shield.

The agony rings gently distant like a soft rain, given unto me beauty for ashes,I shall not faint.

Authors note:

The poem is symbolic for finishing the race, starving addictions, and staying long enough to see the fruit of those actions unfold.
