There is beauty in the mundane-
the soft sparkle of suds within
a sink of spoilt dishware,
Cackle in broken pops,
Highlighting internal shame.
.
Fuck these dishes.
Fuck being grateful.
Fucking spending all my income
On food.
Fuck all this pain.
.
There is beauty in the simple.
A picnic in a clover-strewn field,
The cloying scent of wildflowers,
Sun-soaked skin,
Blueberry-lipped stain.
.
I hate these stupid bugs,
I hate the blistering heat,
I hate that I disappoint you.
Hatefully begging on the rain.
.
There is beauty in silence
The whispers on the wind,
Time sticking in muddy riverbeds
Dreams slowly turning to ash,
From within.
.
Bastardized day dates,
Bastardized hope,
Bastardized freebies,
Disasterly spoke.
.
There is beauty in wanting more,
There is beauty in content.
There is beauty in honesty,
There is beauty in time well spent.
.
.
There IS beauty.
