the green in your eyes
is the green of emeralds.
the white of your skin
is the white of porcelain.
the pink of your lips
is the hue of the sky at dusk.
the only place i could write of your beauty
is on the barren sheets of heaven
and my words would run dry
because there are too few.
i allowed my gaze
to only linger
because my eyes burned
from the fire in yours.
i can’t stop looking at you.
