Beating with love and excitement

The shades of pinkand purple
Make my soul bright and simple
Just like the mermaid shining with radiance
Singing cheerfully in the middle of the ocean
While looking up to the clear blue sky with a content heart.
The shades of whiteand silver
Just like the innocent flying angel
As pretty and unique as the unicornbehind the clouds
As sweet as the little cupid trying to match people's hearts.
Hugs and kisses, sweet warm embraces
Happy thoughts, sincere friends and wishes
Make my days as beautiful and colorful as my favorite shades
Turning bad times into good ones, and tears into smiles and laughters.

I can't imagine dying like this, in a place like this; on a cold, dirty pavement with rush hour traffic screaming by and a crowd looking on while paramedics struggle to find space to move. Who could? Deep down we all think there should be a reason, a moment of clarity... or a family presence, at least. For this man, this boy, the rail thin woman lighting a cigarette in a faux fur jacket will have to do - she's been here since the start, her eyes tracking the movement of my shoulders as we fight to keep him on the right side of the line.
