Beast and the Bed

Y8

By James GreenPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

The beast within.

Black fur, red eyes, it has no disguise.

What is it you said?

It lies in wait underneath your bed.

What lies underneath my bed? I am the beast within. Nothing frightens me.

No more needs to be said. Sleep soundly.

I will. Soundless is how I will sleep. You won't hear a whisper or a peep.

Then why all this bickering beast within? I thought you were beastly. Why prattle on? Out of sin?

Yes. Sinful is what I am. Now watch your words. Before, I sin.

Goodnight. Sweet dreams. I'll be here waiting for you.
