Bear the Chaos in Silence

Hiding From The World

By Mercedes ChavezPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Sadness has a hold on me

Unrelenting and unforgiving

It lingers in the back of my mind

Day in and day out

Like cold hands, firmly holding me in their grasp

Squeezing until I can no longer breathe

I try to gasp for air, and it feels like the weight of the world is sitting on my chest

How can my mind be so beautifully chaotic?

Thoughts that make me feel that I'm existing in a dream

Thoughts that are like being trapped in a nightmare loop

Perfectly made by my every waking fear

I don't want to be like this

I don't want to be controlled by these emotions

Not to be a burden

Not to be a bother

Hoping the ones I care about most never get tired of me

So I hide it, I hide the tears, I hide the pain

I'll bear the chaos in silence

Never letting the world see me fall apart
