Gossip and rumor and innuendo
Have always beguiled and befuddled us
But the present age makes it hard to know
What is true or false or fit to discuss
Saturated with mere information
Many infer that they know everything;
But knowledge attests to comprehension
Not just of raw data, but its meaning
Thus, rumor and gossip and oblique hints
Spicily salacious as they may be
Are not solid structures, but mere blueprints
Chimeras a real eye may never see
We must not mistake idle talk for truth
Seek solid food with a skeptical tooth

Oooo, that last line, seek solid food with a skeptical tooth. I especially loved that!
