Be Your Own You

Is what you see, what you like?

Who are you?

Do you really even know or are you so wrapped up in what's going on around you that you've become just another brainwashed product of society?

Think of your person as a newborn baby, swaddled in blankets for warmth. Those blankets are not soft and fuzzy, they're meaningless opinions of those around you.

They have changed what is inside of you and altered what you think, what you believe, and how you live.

Why?

Why does everyone listen?

Why does everyone else's opinion matter?

Your life becomes a combination of what others expect and what seems to be "cool" at the time.

Take a minute, step back and think for a moment.

Look in the mirror, not at your refection, but what is behind it.

Gaze into the aspects that you can't see: morality, health, happiness, etc.

Is it you? Or is it a shell, molded by society, filled to the brim with ideas that never came from your own mind?

Reflect.
