Be like the Tree

Vanish a little

By Tonja DingerdissenPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

When the sun’s rays start to feel less warm

The apple tree knows the time of blossoming is gone

It does not forget that without rest there is no bloom

So why do we?

Be like that tree

When the days get shorter and the nights grow long

The tree starts to say goodbye to its fruits and leaves

It does not pretend that summer will last forever

So why do we?

Be like that

When the autumn winds shake the tree’s branches

It knows to let go and let its leaves fly to the ground

It does not hold on to things that are ready to let go

So why do we?

Be

Are we scared of the darkness

or the dying?

Are we scared of the stillness

or the quiet?

When to disappear means to emerge

and to die means to rebirth

when a season of autumn

arrives in our lives

we should embrace: some things need to vanish

we should embrace: some things need to die
