In the night, a lone dog’s cry,
Echoes through the moonlit sky,
A rhythmic bark, sharp and clear,
Cutting through the stillness near.
A guardian in the dark, a vigilant sheen,
With each bark, a message sent,
A vigil kept, a will unbent.
The neighborhood slumbers, disturbed by the sound,
A reminder that vigilance knows no bounds,
A sentinel’s duty, fierce and strong.
As the moon wanes and dawn draws near,
The barking fades, the threat unclear,
Yet in the silence, the echo stays,
Of a lone dog’s watchful gaze.
