stale cologne

colonizing the room

where I just want to be

alone

where I just found peace

for a moment

can I just have a minute

to think

or breathe

or need.

When did I last eat?

Be pretty.

Be skinny.

Be smart

but not smart mouthed.

Be out spoken

but not too loud.

Be sexy

but don't show too much.

Don't give it all

but you have to give enough.

You're a commodity baby

Sell me,

but don't MLM me.

This is the infinite

loop of society

everyone has a price

and a vice

or they'll give it up

for free

likes

How cheap are you?

Zero hearts...

zero stars...

they could get me

for next to nothing.
