An ode to my cat

Every morning and night my cat stares at the moon.

I walk into it as my day begins and she stares wanting me to come back soon.

She lets off a chorus of meows to the sky and if I’m not back it makes her cry.

I pretend to not be affected but I know it’s lies.

Watching my cat stare up at the moon looking with stoic eyes.

When the half moon in her pupils take a look you

She’s looking at that moon and she’s knows that I’m looking too.

A moon through the eyes of my cat is the clearest moon.

Not belonging to the world. Its just Bagheera’s moon.

~Dedicated to my cat, Bagheera
