Bad Fruit

Day 42/365

By Ellie HoovsPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

The apple fell too near the tree

became an only, crying, pick me

got some worms in it’s core

from the rock bottom rooted dirt floor

decaying on the inside while the outside stays pretty

blaming everything on gravity

someone picked it up hoping it’d be good for a pie

but cut open the rot had nowhere to hide

it was tossed away because there’s nothing else you can do

with bad fruit
