On the surface, I can see it moving;

I place my hand to feel its breathing.

Tell me, what could be here hiding

so desperately in between these sheets?

What could this nightmare want from me?

God, what monster crawled into bed with me?

-

Take it from me.

-

I am not the type to hide beneath the seams.

I will not be waiting for the sun to rise.

I will not be sleeping nose to nose with bad dreams.

I'll be on my feet looking this dead in the eye;

I will not wait until the enemy sleeps

to strip the bed of its absolute mind

and set it right on fire.

-

Take it from me.

-

Take it from me.

-

I can feel the weight of it shift near me

and I know I'm not going crazy.

I can't see now with my eyes open

but I'm still sleepwalking

because this is one big bad dream

and what lingers is the stench of a haunting.

-

God, what monster crawled into bed with me?

-

Take it from me.

-

Take it from me.
